Here are some recent reviews from our guests:image4 (1)

“Le Portail Neuf was a wonderful retreat at the end of our long bike tour, and an ideal base for more Vaucluse cycling. It’s a traditional-styled Provençal house with a good kitchen for dining in, and all facilities for an extended stay. Beaumes-de-Venise is a great little town without the tourist gloss you find in nearby towns. The top-floor balcony is wonderful in the evening for an aperitif, with a view of the top of Mont Ventoux.” (June 2018)

“A great house in a beautiful Provence town. Ideally placed for seeing the fabulous surrounding countryside, and ideal for walking & exploring.” (June 2018)

Beaumes de Venise”Très belle maison très bien située et superbe région. Merci pour l’accueil!” (August 2017)

“The house was wonderful and we had a fantastic time staying there for a few days. It’s really spacious and well equipped so it was ideal for us, a family of 5. There was no need to use the aircon as the house was always blissfully cool. We loved sitting on the little balcony looking out over the village to Mount Ventoux. The village is bustling with everything on hand (bakers, butchers, restaurants, supermarket, public swimming pool). If you want to have the authentic Provencal experience, living in a lovely old village with all the region has to offer, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Le Portail Neuf.” (August 2017)

“Absolutely loved the charm of this village and home. It was a great place for my older kids to spread out a bit, with the comfortable TV room and internet connection. It is set as a three story home, so climbing stairs is necessary to access all spaces. We loved it, as it gave us all privacy when we wanted it. The home was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Lovely area.” (July 2017)

“The location couldn’t be better. In town so easy access to the local swimming pool, library, shopping and cafés. At the same time, couldn’t be more quiet and cozy. No need for air-conditioning, 36 Celsius outside and with open windows, the temperature inside was perfect. The house is well equipped and functional. Kitchen fully equipped so even more elaborate cooking no problem. Internet works well. Maryvonne checked us in and was friendly and helpful. Parking a little difficult but it was because it was perhaps the busiest week of the summer with the fair in town. Otherwise wouldn’t be an issue. We’ll come back I hope.” (July 2017)

“The Portail Neuf is a wonderful three-story house right behind the walls of the old village of Beaumes-de-Venise. Especially the ground floor is wonderfully cool even on hot summer days. The kitchen is perfectly equipped with not only cooking ware, dishes, cutlery and glasses but also with sugar, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and the basic spices. It’s only some hundred meters through the old village to the next bakery and Beaumes-de-Venise is wonderfully situated in the heart of the Provence right in front of the Dentelles. Free public parking is available on a small square right outside the city walls. There is no reserved parking especially dedicated to the Portail Neuf, nevertheless we found a parking lot on every day.” (June 2017)

“We spent a very enjoyable stay at Le Portail Neuf. The house was just perfect, roomy, cosy, fully equipped. The beds were comfortable and the location ideal, as we had not to use the car for the whole weekend. The village is very beautiful, and the weather was awesome (clear blue sky, 23 degrees….) A memorable week-end ! Merci!” (November 2016)

“We had a lovely relaxing week here. Plenty of walks and day trips. Lovely village with everything we needed. Market is small but has fresh seafood, rotisserie chicken & paella. Highly recommend the terrine Grandmere from the U Mart and home-made ice cream from the boulangerie near the  church. English language DVDs were appreciated.” (September 2015)
